Visual hierarchy is not simply choosing the largest type. It ensures shoppers receive the right information in the right order and time.

Three-second test

Show the pack briefly. If viewers cannot name the brand, product type and variant, the front panel is not completing its task.

Distance and reduction test

Review at shelf distance and thumbnail size. Category, product name and variant coding—not small copy—should remain visible.

Blur test

Slightly blur the image and check whether dominant masses match the brand and primary message. Rebalance if decoration wins.

SKU line-up test

Evaluate packs as a range. The brand block creates unity while variant coding prevents selection errors.

Real-print test

Contrast, glare, curvature and small type behave differently in print. Proof on the intended substrate rather than relying on a flat screen.
